I’m at a service spot, but I don’t see Ehime_Free_Wi-Fi among the network options.

Generally, the distance that Wi-Fi is accessible is several meters in diameter from an access point, though this varies depending on the Wi-Fi devices used and type of installation at each point. If you are having trouble connecting, you may be too far away from the access point. Try to move closer to the device.
If the SSID is still not shown on the screen of your device, consult the manager in charge at the site, or email the Digital Shift Promotion Division, Digital Strategy Bureau, Planning Promotion Department, Ehime Prefectural Office with information such as the facility, location, time and date, and type of device you are using, as well as your past usage experience at the location (if you have ever used the service at the location.)

I’m connected to Ehime Free Wi-Fi, but I can’t browse the Internet or use an application software.

The reason may be one of the following:

  1. (1) The authentication is not complete. (You need to go through the authentication process again in the following cases: you have passed the time limit of usage, or you may have unintentionally accessed a different access point since changing your location or for other reasons.)
Open a browser and complete the authentication process.

The Internet speed is slow.

The reason may be one of the following:

  1. (1) The conditions of Wi-Fi reception are not good. (e.g. You are too far away from the access point, or there is some obstacle between your location and the access point.)
Move closer to the access point or where the reception is better.
  2. (2) The access point is crowded. (Many people are using the connection.)
Please wait for a while and try again.
  3. (3) The access point has some limit in its high speed connection usage.
Some access points set a limit of the total monthly amount of high speed communication usage. Once the usage exceeds the limit, the communication speed becomes slower.
Each location requires a different connection method. Why the inconvenience?

Ehime Free Wi-Fi Project has been made possible with support and favor of many businesses. Each group uses the connection (and authentication) methods that they can offer. Thus it’s not possible to use the same method at all the locations.
Thank you for your understanding.
